Four tortured bodies were found in gunny bags in Jamrud, Khyber Agency and Kohat on Thursday.
Kohat
The body of a teenage girl was found in a gunny bag at Bama graveyard on the outskirts of Kohat city. A Saddar police official said a blood-soaked gunny bag was found in the graveyard by residents. Police reached the site and shifted the body to the station for identification and then to Liaqat Memorial Hospital, Kohat for an autopsy. It was learned that the deceased had been attacked with sharp blades.
A case was filed against unidentified assailants and investigation is underway.
Jamrud
Jamrud Political Agent Asmatullah Wazir said two bodies, bearing torture marks, were found at the bank of a canal in Mulagori while another was found at a roadside in Takhta Baig.
Around 9am, residents told Wazir a gunny bag had been spotted near a roadside. The bomb disposal squad cleared the area and recovered the body of 17-year-old Rohullah, a resident of Tarnab Farm, Peshawar.
Wazir said after shifting Rohullah’s body to Jamrud Civil Hospital, they were informed by the Mullagori administration of two more bodies which had been found at Mullagori canal bank near Marbal Chowk. The deceased were identified as Abdullah Wahab, son of Siraj, and Abdur Rahim, son of Syed Rahim – both residents of Daudzai. The bodies bore bullet wounds and marks of torture.
The official believed the men were first tortured and then gunned down.
Protest in Peshawar
Meanwhile, Rohullah’s relatives blocked Sher Shah Suri Road for an hour in protest against his murder.
Talking to journalists at the Peshawar Press Club, Rohullah’s brother Qasteer Gul said the police arrested his brother and others on May 1, 2013 and had accused Rohullah of having links with militants. He was also charged with bombing an election office on April 20.
Rohullah was granted bail in July and was released on September 6.
“Today (Thursday) DSP Shaukatullah called to inform Rohullah’s body was found in Takhta Bag,” said Gul. He added his brother was a student of grade 10 and had no links with any terrorists.
