At Comsats: Italy Day celebrated
A film festival featuring classic Italian films also ran throughout the day.
Italian arts and culture came to life when the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology joined hands with the Italian Embassy to celebrate Italy Day on Thursday. The event was inaugurated by Ambassador of Italy Adriano Cianfarani, following which two art exhibitions were unveiled at the COMSATS Art Gallery — one showcasing works of contemporary Italian artists and the other commemorating the Italian expedition to the Karakoram in 1913. In addition to Italian art, the European country’s industry was also represented with 15 stalls of Italian companies. A film festival featuring classic Italian films also ran throughout the day. The day of celebrations ended with a dinner at COMSATS campus and was attended, among other officials, by ambassadors of Italy, Argentina, Romania, Egypt and Greece. Italian musician Paolo Zaccarria entertained guests at the dinner.
