Violating party policy: PPP suspends MPA’s membership

This was done because of violation of party policy.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party has suspended the basic membership of its MPA from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa for publishing advertisements in newspapers purporting to ask people to block Nato supply routes in violation of the party policy. The show cause notice signed by Additional Secretary General PPP Senator Raza Rabbani asked Fakari Azam MPA from PF-71 to show cause as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against him for grave violation of party discipline. It said that the party policy enunciated at its meeting held on November 3 in Karachi had clearly stated that while it condemned drone strikes any decision with regard to Nato supply routes rested with the federal government and no provincial government had the authority to take any decision in this regard.
