Solving shortages : GE on visit for power sector

The delegation has come to Pakistan on a two-day visit to explore investment opportunities in the energy sector.

ISLAMABAD: General Electric has shown an interest to invest in Pakistan’s energy sector, especially in the oil, gas and power sectors. In connection to this, a delegation of GE, led by the chief financial officer Shane Fitzsimons, has come to Pakistan on a two-day visit to explore investment opportunities in the energy sector. A meeting with the GE delegation was held in the ministry of petroleum & natural resources in Islamabad. The meeting was chaired by Jam Kamal Khan, minister of state for petroleum and natural resources. The representatives of GE briefed the minister on its current project in Pakistan in the oil and gas power sector. Khan said that all possible solutions to the energy crisis are being explored, including hydel, coal, wind, solar  and natural gas import.
