The consul-generals of different countries including the United States, Italy, Russia and China attended the event and extended their well wishes to the people of Oman on the occasion. The event started with the national anthems of Oman and Pakistan. The nationals of Oman wore simple collarless white gowns with long sleeves that extended to their ankles. The dress, called a Dishdasha, was worn with caps and turbans, while a curved dagger hung around their waist.
Qassimi thanked the Pakistani government for their help in organising the event and prayed for its prosperity. “We wish that Pakistan becomes stable and peaceful and is preserved from all evils,” the consul-general hoped.
Both countries enjoy a friendly relationship that benefits the two nation, said Sindh education minister Nisar Ali Khuhro, who was also the chief guest at the event. “Oman helped us build Gwadar Port, which is a great asset for Pakistan’s continued progress,” he added.
