Illegal detention centres: Investigation finds inspector, SI guilty

LAHORE: An inquiry report prepared by Investigation DIG Zulfiqar Hameed has declared a Shahdara police investigation in charge and a sub inspector guilty of keeling alleged rapists at an illegal detention centre. The report was presented to Capital City Police Officer Chaudhry Shafique on Tuesday. Shortly after the reports FIRs were registered against both the officers. SI Sanaullah was arrested and raids were being conducted for the inspector’s arrest. The DIG said that Inspector Ibrahim and Sub Inspector Sanaullah had set up an illegal detention centre. The DIG said the report had been prepared after statements of residents of the area, the accused who were detained in the centre and area police.
