Car taken at gunpoint outside minister’s house

KARACHI:

Two men snatched a car outside Sindh Youth Affairs Minister Faisal Sabzwari’s house within the limits of the Gulshan police station on Saturday morning.

The incident took place in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, 13 D/2, when Sabzwari’s driver was on his way to pick up the minister from his residence.

Two unidentified motorcyclists stopped the driver on the way and snatched the government vehicle from him at gunpoint.

Sabzwari and SSP Naeem Sheikh have also validated the incident. The minister was not in the car at that time.

The black Toyota Corolla with the number plate GS-6886 belonged to the Sindh Youth Affairs Department, the police said.

They added that the law enforcers deployed outside the minister’s house had just finished their duty and left while the officials who worked for the second shift had yet to arrive when the incident took place.

The police have registered an FIR.
