LB polls: Over 1,300 nomination papers found invalid

More than 22,000 candidates submitted their nomination papers in Balochistan out of which 1,300 papers were rejected.

Election Commission of Balochistan has rejected the nomination papers of more than 1,300 candidates for the local bodies’ elections in the province during the scrutiny.


As many as 500 appeals were submitted to Election Commission. “We will display the list of final candidates on Tuesday,” Sayed Sultan Bayazeeed, Provincial Election Commissioner, told The Express Tribune.

More than 22,000 candidates have submitted their nomination papers in the province to contest the local bodies’ election out of which some 1,300 papers were rejected. “The final list, including the unopposed candidates, will be displayed once Election Commission concludes the hearings on appeals,” Bayazeed added.
