Public contact tour: Mengal blames govt-sponsored groups for disorder
MPA from Wadh says groups rejected by people were destroying peace in Jhalawan.
QUETTA:
Sardar Akhtar Mengal, president of Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) has alleged that ‘government-sponsored’ armed groups were destroying peaceful environment in Jhalawan.
The ‘pro-government terrorist groups’ are out to undermine security in the region, Mengal said in a talk to the media after his tour of Wadh region.
Earlier, addressing a public meeting in Killi Brahimzai, former chief minister of Balochistan said the shady groups that had lost the elections have now been tasked to destroy prevalent peace in the area.
He said there was complete peace and harmony from Lasbela to Khuzdar and hardly any incident of violence was reported until lately when the people have begun to feel insecure.
He specifically slammed the government and its institutions, alleging that when the people rejected the dubious characters in general election, the government patronised certain armed groups to harass the populace and make lives miserable for the locals.
“The government and its functionaries are mistaken that they can dent the popularity [of BNP-M] among the masses,” chief of the Mengal tribe said.
Mengal said his party had adopted a legal and political course of action to serve the people and this made the BNP-M so popular among the masses.
“People have reposed utmost trust and confidence in us and our political allies and this had made our relations with the masses unshakeable,” Mengal said.
The MPA from Wadh told the audience that the government and its functionaries had robbed his party’s mandate and installed elements who had no popular support.
“We are out here in the political field to face powerful, invisible forces but we still enjoy the support of the people of Balochistan.”
Hinting at the PML-N-sponsored government that has backing from Punjab, Mengal said the Baloch people are politically aware and they could not be fooled by the aliens.
