Suspected enmity: Elderly man stabbed in street

Police says he had sold his house a few days ago despite his family’s opposition.

MULTAN: A 70-year-old man was killed by unidentified assailants on Thursday while he was on his way to a mosque for Fajr prayers. Police said Muhammad Faiz of Nizamabad was on his way to the mosque, when some men stabbed him and fled. Some passers-by, who found him lying dead on the road, informed the police. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination. Police speculated that the murder could be a result of an enmity. They said he had sold his house a few days ago despite his family’s opposition.
