This development has come on the heels of the unceremonious removal of two Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) ministers from the provincial cabinet on grounds of corruption.
The sacking, combined with Imran Khan asking the party to break away from the QWP coalition, has primed Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s political landscape for a new kind of change.
PPP insiders privy to these meetings say leaders of both parties have contacted certain PPP figures over the past few days. However, it seems no decision has come about from these meetings.
According to the PPP source, Adviser to the prime minister Amir Muqam contacted a senior PPP politico from K-P a few days ago while PTI leaders also reached out to a relative of another senior PPP leader in Islamabad.
He explained the PPP leadership is in the midst of making in-house consultations regarding these overtures but, he confirmed, no conclusions have been drawn yet.
In another day or two, the party will take a decision with regards to the meetings with the PML-N and PTI, he added.
Amir Muqam confirmed his meeting with PPP K-P President Khanzada Khan. Muqam maintained it was for personal reasons and had no political agenda.
PPP MPA Nighat Orakzai, however, denied reports about meetings between her party and the PTI. And if any such lines of communication are opened, the provincial chapter will look towards PPP’s central control, she added.
PPP has four members in the K-P Assembly at present; its role is likely to become more vital if the QWP leaves the government with its 10 MPAs. Its exit might just be round the corner after two of its ministers were sent packing on Wednesday.

@xor: Then tell me what has PTI been able to do other than lollypop items like e-fir, e-x, e-y, e-blah blah blah. Not one solid thing on the ground yet.
@Xnain Failing to do so? From where you are getting this perception? Articles from Irfan Siddique?
Just remind you, PMLN already surrendered their promises in the name of Josh Khitabat.
PPP must reject Imran Khan. Consign this guy to the dustbin of history, he is unfit to lead.
Wow people in Pakistan are very committed to Imran khan, his politics and his attractive mane.
PML-N wont and should not be part of any movement to weaken the PTI led government in KPK. Give PTI every chance to deliver on their promises in KPK which they have been failing to do so til now. PTI shouldn't be allowed a "syasi sahadat" in KPK. Most of my friends from KPK who joined PTI have now overturned against it. There is an anger cooking in KPK against both the army and the PTI but none seem to realize it. PTI needs to deliver and army needs to review her strategy in War Against Terror.
Anti PTI trolls (consist of Desi liberals, supporters from terrorist party of Karachi, patwaries and jiyalas ) need to appreciate good PTI moves against corruption.
@logic europe:
And my friend how do you suppose that PPP would come to the power "Soon" in the center? I can only assume that this only is possible if one of the remaining scions of the Bhutto Family gets whacked.
I do agree with the rest of your assessment on Imran Khan though :D
PPP must reject Imran Khan. Consign this guy to the dustbin of history, he is unfit to lead.
due to failure of PTI govt in KP...it want to be become a political martyr...
Did you notice IK's hand in the picture? It seems he is preparing to bowl an outswinger !
@saima: ROFL!
ET is pro PMLN i Guess
@saima: Why don't you just keep out of this. Just let @Chaudhry deal with his 'dulabhai' (Behnoi or whatever).
The best thing for imran is to join PPP and learn some politics PPP will be back in power soon in the centre . Build bridges now otherwise you will remain confined to barran lands of KPK
@Chaudhry: Bhai, please excuse my husband Adnan. He is not challenged in any way. One time I told him that IKs hair looks nice, and since Adnan is bald he got really upset. Since that day he looks for any pti story and leaves negative comments. Its the only way he can gain an iota of self respect.
This story only quotes "PPP sources", what kind of journalism is this? PTI is not talking to the PPP for a coalition.
dear ET who do you want to fool?
@Adnan Siddiqi: ET's world is coming to lies and fabrications. Because PTI did not contact PPP at all. Even the PPP MPA Nighat Orakzai denies that but ET had to spin-doctor something against PTI. Grow up ET folks - these tactics have grown old and rusty. Get a life
@Adnan Siddiqi: Read the article again, my comprehension challenged friend. PML has acknowledged the overture, while PPP has denied any communication with PTI, and no confirmation by PTI either.
Readers need to deduce this news are little bit more intelligently! What the headline means is that both PTI and PML-N are vying to form a provisional government and both are "Separately" attempting to cobble a coalition; PTI to remain in power and PML-N to unseat PTI.
But PTI reaching out to PPP to save its skin in KPK Assembly, what the heck is this world coming to?
The sheer arrogance does not belong to an elected coalition and democratic norms. It is a shame that PTI govt is already shaking. It has to complete its term and not play a victim card.
This story is lies based on rumor and possible funding from a lobby. Even the report itself is contradicting the title. Please ET, get this down. Responsible journalism, por favor?
"...if the QWP leaves the government with its 10 MPAs"
Not for long, the MPAs fired for corruption would be disqualified when the charges are proven. Incomplete analysis ET, as usual.
Another day another false story about PTI. Does your bias never rest ET?
Both PTI and PMLN should just form a coalition finally. Even in the center if need be.
Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif should both forgive each other and surrender their egos for the sake of Pakistan. I especially should realize that the path to success in this sort of game is not always linear and without compromises.
PMLN is not part of KPK collation Govt and your headline itself is wrong as it say "PTI, PML-N reach out to PPP"
PTI has numbers = 61 needed in house of 120(4 seats vacant) PTI 53, JI 9 and AJP 4 TOTAL 66
PPP should not make any decision without consulting with ANP its secular and electoral ally. It is about time that these rightwing parties fail after winning elections and forming the govt. They must rule and fulfill all their promises and not try to become victims. PPP and ANP do the best while in opposition.
Even with qwp booted out Pti has enough numbers to remain in power.
Corruption can be eliminated in nine hours if leadership is imandar. said IK in his daily conversations.Cases of corruption in KP prove that leadership is not imandar..Begining of the end of ''Naya Pakistan'!!
PPP MPA Nighat Orakzai have denied these news about these meetings but still ET have to publish it
for your info PMLN is not part of the collation govt of KPK
sorry to say ET your info is wrong because your information relay on PPP sources
finally ET found another news about PTI led KPK govt, right after they fired 2 QWP ministers over corruption charges,
ET you should have appreciated PTI for their stance against corruption instead leading to another story to create doubts about PTI standings with other parties.
Dont wish to comment on this confuse khan, please do not vote him again ur life
