Election tribunal: Daniyal Aziz’s petition dismissed

Petitioner says his political rival had moved election tribunal to act against him on basis of his dual nationality.

LAHORE: Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday dismissed MNA Danyal Aziz’s petition against an election tribunal. The petitioner had submitted that his political rival had moved the election tribunal to act against him on the basis of his dual nationality. The tribunal had entertained the application and issued notices to him at the wrong residential address, the petitioner said. When he appeared before the tribunal and filed objections to the application, the tribunal refused to hear him, he said. He asked the court to direct the tribunal to hear his objections. After hearing initial arguments, the court dismissed the petition.
