The Lahore High Court on Wednesday adjourned for 10 days the hearing of a petition seeking a stay order on the elections at the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF).
The petitioner, former Olympian Naveed Alam, said that he feared that the hockey federation’s election would be “massively rigged”, as some candidates and some members of the election commission also held senior positions within in the federation.
The petitioner asked the court to direct the respondents to follow the rules and regulations for the elections, which were scheduled to end on November 25.
The PHF submitted a written reply to the petition in which it rejected Alam’s claims.
The court adjourned the hearing till November 27 with directions to the counsel of both parties to present further arguments.
