Strict vigilance: IGP reviews Muharram 9 security plan

KARACHI: IGP Shahid Nadeem Baloch on Wednesday reviewed the Karachi police’s security plan for Muharram 9. According to the police statement, about 700 large and small processions will be held, and around 280 majalis will be held across the city on Thursday. In the report given to the IGP, the Muharram contingency plan detailed extraordinary security arrangements for mosques, imambargahs and madressahs. Baloch directed that minute-to-minute reports on the processions and majalis to be communicated. He said the monitoring of the processions should be undertaken .
