South Africa lead the two match series 1-0.
Francois du Plessis and Quinton de Kock made 37 and 48 runs for South Africa respectively.
Only South African wicket to fall was off Hashim Amla, Sohail Tanver bowled him out on 13.
Earlier, batting first Pakistan could only muster 98 runs in its allotted 20 overs for the loss of nine wickets in the first Twenty20 between Pakistan and South Africa of the two match series, Cricinfo reported.
Pakistan's batting abyss continued, as four Pakistani batsmen, including captain Mohammad Hafeez, were dismissed for a duck.
The only notable contribution came from Umar Akmal who scored 49 runs off 41 balls, almost half of all the runs made by Pakistan in the match.
Dale Steyn was the pick of the bowler from South Africa, he took three wickets for 15 runs in his four overs.
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat in the first of the two Twenty20 series, in Dubai, Cricinfo reported.

like hokey ,cricket has been destroyed by selecting players only from Punjab.....PCB should be shifted to Islamabad
@Arun: Please provide girls on that beach
Imran Khan can do a big favour to Pakistan by saying goodbye to politics and devote full time on Pakistan cricket where he can make some useful contribution unlike his dismal performance in the political arena.
I think people in Karachi should be ashamed for their incompetence in cricket and it has nothing to do with anybody else...let us name one Karachi player who has shown any potential recently...Faisal Iqbal, Sarfaraz, Sami etc. in domestic a levels and who is ignored by selectors? PCB also has also become a laughing stock what other nation would see the misery in the team but stay quite till Feb to save a few thousands... when they team is screaming for changes including sacking of pathetic Hafeez and Misbah and Whatmore...Sethi is a joker...he should be sent him as well and pathetic selectors and Moin Khan as well since he has arrived he has made cricket team like Karachi...secterian and ethnic enterprise with no team spirit... and everyone fighting each other. They should fire the whole lot....why wait? No one in UAE would come to watch them any more because they know this team is a bunch of pathetic losers...Hafeez has been dismissed by Styn 101 times at a score of zero and he is the captain?
Pakistan cricket think-tanks are responsible for on-going debacle. * Lack of planning to build up a pool of future players is nonexistent. * Murder of merit while selecting the team - deserving young/upcoming players are ignored and persevering with EGYPTIAN MUMMIES (players whose shelf life expired long time back). In present scenario, its O.K. to give exposure to young players and LOSE matches – definitely in due course will unearth talented batsmen. * No strategic planning to counter short pitched stuff as batsmen remain clueless against swinging balls. Who is in charge of video analysis ?????? * The present lot desperately need a psychiatrist to boost up metal strength. * Synonymous with state of affairs in Pakistan, cricket is declining fast - Hockey and Squash are already dead. God be with Pakistan !!!!!!!
The way stayen make fun of pakistani cricket team by laughing against hafeez is amasing.
Even the Pakistani bowling is going their batting way. If bowlers were real good and has magic in one of them as these Pakistanis brag about, they should have bowled out the opposition like sitting ducks, the bowling performance is in front of you like a naked mirror, they could just barely managed to get only one batsman out. What happened to the magician, went kaput.
We need more players from Punjab :) you know the kind of great players from our beloved province who has represented the country so proudly the last decade or so; you know the likes of Hafeez, Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Salman Butt, Imran Farhat and of course the list goes on and on ...
What a shameful defeat, very very poor performance ,no team spirit,no planning .We have no.1 poor batting side world cricket ever had.We shall stop playing cricket.
And what do you say on such occasions....inna illahi and blah blah blah.....
Seriously, the amount of Indian trolls that comment on our team's articles is shocking. Please sort your bowling issues first. We know we have a pathetic batting lineup, yet team India has the most mediocre bowling at the same time. Coming back to the performance, this has been coming for a long time. The warning signs were there when we lost a TEST MATCH to Zimbabwe, not to mention the ODI loss there too. As long as bit part players like Afridi, Hafeez, Malik and Tanvir remain in the team, we have absolutely no hope. Now I see some people calling for Imran Nazir's return. Utterly laughable. We don't need any more 'tullaybaaz' in our batting line. This isn't 'muhallay/gali' ki cricket. Before the start of this series I said Pakistan wouldn't even reach to a 100 runs without Misbah. Now I'm laughing at all those who doubted me.
Misbah-ul-Haq in ODI 2013
Misbah-ul-Haq has the most runs scored in
ODIs in 2013 with 1119 Runs...George Bailey is at No.2 with 1098 runs, & Rohit Sharma is at No.3 with 1071 runs. . Misbah-ul-Haq (Pak) in 2013 Matches: 26 Innings: 26 NotOuts: 5 Total Runs: 1119 Highest: 96 Not Out
Average: 53.28Fifties: 12 Ducks: 1 Sixes: 22
Misbah Ul Haq is the Leading Run Scorer in ODIs in 2013 with 1119 runs... WHILE #2 is GJ Bailey with 1098 runs, & #3 is Rohit Sharma with 1071 runs.
Also, he has the highest batting average among Pak batsmen in 2013 @ 53.28 (2nd being Hafeez @36.52.
And you pakistani fans want him dropped, just because he is not dashing and overconfident... He is the best among the lot, and he can easily qualify in any of the current world class ODI teams.. He just needs a good support from players and the you guys
Now that Misbah has been dropped in first T20, you see the results... . Misbah-ul-Haq (Pak) Matches: 26 Innings: 26 NotOuts: 5 Total Runs: 1119 Highest: 96 Not Out Average: 53.28 Fifties: 12 Ducks: 1 Sixes: 22
I blame Misbah and Hafeez for all this. Misbah does not even have a place in one day squad and he is our captain. Hafeez is not a batsman neither a full fledge bowler doesnt deserve to be in this team. 90 % of the time he doest not go beyond 30 runs. I would suggest to stop thinking of the old ideas where u play with 8 all rounders. You need solid batsman and bowlers. Now lets look at our team Hafeez, Afridi, Tanveer, Razzaq, all rounders and performance is 0/0.
Difference day same story.
ET should not waste its time in writing a new report, just publish the previous one.
Told u. Its time to say "Inna lillahi..." for Pak cricket. The kind of yo yo talent we have, there is no chance of consistency in the team.
Good professional display by SA, lets not take spot light away from them. Pak sucks and we lack professional attitude in all areas of our lives, its finally catching up with cricket. Maybe its time to start watching something else then Pak cricket.
Win the toss or not win the toss, batting first or bowling first, pakistan will lose the match
this is not upsetting me anymore, ab toh adatt si ho gayi hai! i used to be such an avid follower of the team, now its disheartened me completely, where is imran nazir for t20~
Like the country, Pakistan cricket is also sinking fast just like the Titanic. RIP.
Mark my words. 1:Shift PCB to Islamabad to remove this totally Punjabi influence, starting from pathetic chairman, all the way down to selectors, and majority of players. 2:If a non Punjabi captain is doing great for the team, Punjabis shouldn't start backbiting against him, and make life miserable for him. This can only happen in the capital of the country. 3:From Islamabad only the PCB can select quality players from Punjab, K.P, Sindh and even Balochistan, but can never have a fair selection by keeping their base in Lahore. 4:Chances of extreme reaction for under performance and pressure to perform on every player will be much greater if PCB is based in Islamabad, rather than in Lahore where majority of staff has become totally indifferent to their primary goal, i.e to prepare a winning team rather they are continuously producing a bunch of totally shameless cricketers.
Chokers vs Jokers !!!!
Even pakistan bat for 20 overs and SA bat for 10 overs, then also SA will win.
