KARACHI: This is with reference to Wajahat Latif’s article “Jinnah’s dream now a nightmare” (October 14).  There is a dire need for reviving Jinnah’s dream because he wanted a Pakistan free from extremism and where liberal and progressive views could be fostered.

I strongly object to the use of the word “nightmare” for Jinnah’s dream by Mr. Latif.. Is the state of Pakistan which is homeland of Mr. Latif and 178 million other Pakistanis a “nightmare” created by Jinnah’s dream? Nothing could be more disrespectful to our great leader and millions of us who suffered untold police brutalities and lathi charges during Pakistan Movement for the creation of a homeland for Muslims and others called Pakistan..
I regret to say it is fake and corrupt to the core politicians who have been and are playing with our country for whom Mtr Latif had no words to condemn or he dared not.
