"Chairman PTI Imran Khan today issued a strong advisory to CM Khyber-Pukhtunkwa to pull out of the coalition with QWP," a statement from PTI issued on Wednesday evening read.
Have asked KP CM 2 pull out of coalition with QWP. QWP was given 2 warnings about corruption of 2 of their ministers but to no avail.1/3
— Imran Khan (@ImranKhanPTI) November 13, 2013
The statement further explained that government's decision to end their coalition was based on QWP ignoring multiple warnings that it was issued about the corruption of their ministers.
2/3 Instead QWP showed its displeasure at their corruption being pointed out by boycotting the provincial cabinet meetings.
— Imran Khan (@ImranKhanPTI) November 13, 2013
In the statement, Imran added that PTI was elected on a mandate against corruption and has zero tolerance for any form of corruption.
This should be a clear warning 4 all r Ministers/MPAs. PTI cannot have as a coalition partner any Party that tolerates corruption.
— Imran Khan (@ImranKhanPTI) November 13, 2013
On the other hand, Imran praised ministers from Jamaat-e-Islami, the other coalition partner of PTI in K-P.
"Our JI Ministers have proven exemplary in this regard and we respect them for their commitment towards anti-corruption."
Suspended ministers
The suspended ministers are Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Yousuf Ayub Khan and Quami Watan Party’s (QWP) Malik Ibrar Hussain Khan and Bakht Bedar.
The PTI minister was also declared ineligible by the Supreme Court for holding a fake degree.
Yousuf was the Minister for Communications and Works, Bedar was Minister for Industries, Commerce and Technical Education and Malik was Minister for Environment.
QWP's Response
QWP Chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao issued an official statement on Wednesday saying that anyone who has evidence of corruption should share it with his party.
“We will take stern action if proof is shared with us,” he categorically stated.
"We have been clear since day one that we will not tolerate corruption as we believe in transparency and good governance,” he added, emphasising he would not allow anyone to tarnish the party's reputation.
'Stamping out corruption'
Earlier on November 8, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had urged Chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Pervaiz Khattak, to investigate corruption in the province, according to PTI’s official website.
The online press release reiterated the party’s two electoral promises of bringing peace back to the country, particularly in K-P, and stamping out corruption.

Can the esteemed and enlightened trolls care to comment on this piece of news? Oh let me guess here, ET is always biased against PTI because its on the payroll of PML-N and now Daily Times as well. What's the excuse this time, Najam Sethi and his association with Daily Times:

well done imran khan keep it up bravo
@Naseer Ahmad
In province there is something called Provincial interior ministry as well. So this is also a federal subject then
Well done PTI! Imran Khan Zindabad! Pakistan Zindabad!
pti Rockssss pti haters shockssss
It's heartening to see IK take this bold step of sacking corrupt ministers from the coalition at the risk of bringing down his govt. I wish manmohan Singh could learn something from IK in this regard.
If these folks are indeed corrupt, will there be criminal charges against them or someone (IK) has decided that removal from position is enough punishmet.
@farooq: excellent you should need to complaint to cheif minister complaint cell.they will take some step against these culpirts
What decision ? First end coalition with Jamat e Islami Terrorists.....
Imran can't able to consolidate in KPK and looking a ways to runaway from Government. I mean Shaheed :P There are around 7 other ministers involve in corruption, but why he does not take action against other PTI ministers?'
There are rumors all of the ministers don't live in KPK infect most of them spending time in Islamabad - :P
Looks like a publicity stunt by IK and PTI to divert public attention from IK recent comments about TTP and his support for the murderers of thousands of Pakistanis. Shame on IK.
@farooq: federal Interior Ministry handles passports. Provincial Govt has nothing to do with it.
Anti PTI trolls cannot take the heat when they hear Pro PTI statements. I smell something burning!
@Adnan Siddiqi: When? I always disliked them.
@Raj - USA: Thanks Raj for giving an unbiased and true comment. Appreciated.
It amaze me how Imran khan has learn to become Paper Tiger. Just like Bhasani. Any one remember him.
@ farooq Passport office in Hayatabad Kp is under Chaudhry Nisar, the Interior Minister.
It is sad that Paki public did not elected IK as their PM.Things would certainly had changed for better. However it is ironic that the same public is criticizing IK for going back to his promise.
On a rare occasion like this, I like Imran Khan.
@Uza Syed: you never disappoint with your lethargic twisted logics...
If PTI or Pervaiz khattak is serious about ending corrution they should start from the passport and immigration department in hayatabad. Money is exchanged in broad day light and people are mentally tortured. you have to bribe to get a place in lines.Bribe to get your passport etc. And if your address on your id card has a permanent address other than peshawar they will tell you to go to your home district to get a passport.(another bribe)
@Uza Syed:
Yes shame on PTI for not following the path of MQM like killing the innocent people!!!
Please go and fool somebody else.
After Qoumi Watan Party refused to support you in NATO Supply Closure Issue, you brought up corruption & performance Issues.
And as far as Yousuf Ayub is considered, he SC has once again decided on his fate and declared him INELIGIBLE ONCE AGAIN.
BRAVO for making a fool out of the public.
This is something that never happened in Pakistan, not atleast that many of us can remember. While other parties gave the highest possible positions to theri most corrupt politicians( Zardari for president, Raja Rental for PM), PTI actually dismissed ministers for corruption! This was the zero tolerance policy Imran talked about and actaully practiced it unlike the fake promises by other. This is history in the making!
@Radial: well someone had to post a stupid anti PTI comment so well done Radial.
How does the corruption end? By shuffling the cabinet? Has all the looted money being recovered or new ministers would be getting their chance to make their share? How is this reshuffling going to improve the plight of poor masses and keep them safe from terrorists? Please do something to improve the lives of people.
Stop this drama. You all must be ashamed of misleading people. Don't you think telling lies and deception and abusing the trust is also corrupt practice, actually corruption at its worst. You can fool some of your youthia supporters, but most of thinking Pakistanis see PTI & its thugs for what they are. Shame on you PTI
hahahaha so all those corrupt politicians did not magically become angels after all when they joined PTI! fake degrees, corruption, what's next - making a backroom deal with terrorists who pose an existential threat to the country?
Anyone indulged in corruption, belonging to any party whatsoever, is a national criminal. PTI has started a fresh trend of either you are with Pakistan, or against Pakistan.
Ayub was already ineligible to be member of KPK assembly after supreme court decision. so the poor performance is public show. and sacking of QWP ministers looks like that PTI want to be Shaheed
A clear message - In naya KPK there is no room for corruption.
Thumbs up for PTI, living up-to expectations...
It would really be good if the ko government follows due process and bring the culprits under law.
If i am not wrong, this is the first time a party in Pakistan's politics dismisses setting ministers both from ruling and coalition parties. What a message to other ministers and govt functionaries! Well done PTI
good imran khan .....tabdeeli yahi say shoro hoti hai well done
This is great stuff by IK. He is the only leader in Pakistan who can admit to and is willing to take action against corruption within his own ranks. No other country's political leader has the courage or will to do this; all they do is project a holier-than-thou image of themselves, their families, and their cronies.
PTI the trend setter. Hope other parties will also follow
Com on ant PTI trolls...I am looking forward for your absurd and weird logics and theories behind this step of PTI..please don't disappoint me..Way to go PTI...Saluteeeee......
Great decision in the best interest of Pakistan and public service. The Nation generally and KP particularly appreciate the PTI decision. The PTI can be the Pakistan first political and democratic party based on real and practical justice. All the ministries and bureaucracy must the monitor and strict action should be take against. All the best.
Excellent move by PTI and CM Khattak. It is important that ministers and other top government functionaries are not allowed to continue with their corruption. This will send a strong signal to others and hopefully trickle down to lower level. I hope federal government, the others provinces, and political parties also take similar steps to clean out the black sheeps in their ranks.
Well done Team IK!
A milestone in Pakistan's politics
If that is what liberals call "Deen-e-Imrani", then I am proud to be an Imranist!
a good decision by kpk govt to remove these 3 idots
There are rumors that PTI is going in coalition with PPP in KPK provincial government Just one line one this If this happens .... I will stop supporting PTI
Bravo PTI, BRAVO Khattak. Change is on the way...
Yousuf Ayub was already declared ineligible by Sc earlier in the day and yes there was significant talk of corruption allegations against QWP ministers (apparently the party doesn't have a clean reputation in this regard). It is a good step although it puts the coalition in a precarious position of being dependent upon an erratic JI, AJIP and independents who could well jump ship or blackmail the government if QWP leaves the coalition. However PTI and QWP was never a partnership that could last long given the track record of that party and PTIs stance on corruption.
Well, this is the CHANGE that Imran Khan promised prior to the elections. Those who supported PTI should be happy that the party has delivered this early in their tenure. Quick and deliberate action against corrupt ministers and officials will thwart those who intend to steal people's money. It's up to the people to support good and honest parties and make sure not to encourage the corrupt ones by voting for them.
PTI have sacked three provincial Ministers after five months which proves they are very serious against corruption & poor performance. its good to see PTI have taken this step and i hope other provinces will follow it.
Eyewash - Desperate attempts by a failed PTI governance to cover up PTI's false promises and deceiving the nation by promising to eliminate corruption in 3 months of taking power.
hahahaha
there will be a time coming when all it's MNA'S MPA'S will be found involved in corruption. It's just a beginning of an end.
Naya Pakistan !
Way to go! Well done PTI!
A good step by PTI, all provinces must follow this practice, this is the only way to corrupt free politics.
Yousuf Ayub already disqualified for fake degree. The other two are coalition persons. If Khattak sincerely follows corruption cleanup he will soon run out of ministers and or coalition partners. Looking forward to future happenings.
A rare example has been set by PTI. Never heard of a minister being fired due to corruption by any status quo party in Pakistan before. Excellent job PTI.
Bravo!!!
When are you yourself going Khattak?
PTI all the way.....lion roars again.....
