GILGIT:

The Supreme Appellate Court of Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) has summoned government authorities to explain why services of certain contract employees have not yet been regularised.

In a notice issued to the regional government on Tuesday, the court asked relevant authorities to appear on Wednesday (today) and defend their position. The supreme appellate was approached by the aggrieved employees pleading they had not been treated fairly.

The employees claimed they completed at least two years in service and deserve to be regularised. However, they maintained the government decided against it in violation of the law. Earlier this month, the government relieved more than 160 contract employees of grade 17 and 18 for being inducted without qualifying in the competitive examinations. The employees, however, claimed their appointments came after they fulfilled all codal formalities, including appearing in interviews and tests.

BlockquoteThe employees, however, claimed their appointments came after they fulfilled all codal formalities, including appearing in interviews and tests.

How preposterous! You appeared in tests and interviews, so did the deserving and highly educated youth of the area, but you were offered the precious because you are the kith and kin of the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats who can twist and turn the induction mechanism to fit you in. What a shame you are for the nation.

The Chief Secretary GB Mr. Younis Dhaga should stand firm in his resolute to serve merit in the area, until all the said positions are filled through FPSC. The corruption mafia is exerting immense pressure to get the illegal appointments legitimized. GB youth should stand up to crush their evil designs with full force.
