MUZAFFARABAD:

The passing-out parade of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Anti-Terrorist Police was held on Tuesday at Pakistan Army’s Chinar Division Training Centre in Patiaka, some 20 kilometres from here.

On the occasion, police commandos demonstrated their newly-acquired skills in combating terrorism.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Inspector General of Police (IGP) Malik Khuda Bakhsh Awan said the training would help the state police deal with incidents of terrorism and street crime.

At the ceremony, Rawalpindi Core Commander Lt Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa said, “Development, prosperity and peace in Azad Kashmir is the top priority of the Pakistan Army.” He stated he was impressed by the commitment and talent of the Azad Kashmir policemen and promised that the Pakistan Army would continue to train the AJK police.

Murree General Officer Commanding Maj. Gen. Fahimul Aziz, Azad Kashmir Chief Secretary Khyzer Hayat Gondal also attended the ceremony of the 53 AJK Anti-Terrorist Police commandos.
