Murder: Addict kills wife

He stabbed her with a dagger and fled.

BAHAWALPUR: A man allegedly killed his wife in Bahawalpur on Saturday. Police said Iqbal, a resident of Chak 68DB, had been married to Parveen for five years. On Saturday, police said, Iqbal asked her for some money. When she refused, he stabbed her with a dagger and fled. Parveen died on the spot. Police said she had been eight-months pregnant. Police said Iqbal was a drug addict. He was later arrested by a police patrol in Kadwala, police added. Separately, a man was shot dead allegedly by a relative in Bahawalpur. Police said the deceased, Muhammad Altaf, a resident of Qaimpur, was at his home on Saturday when a relative of his, Fida Hussain and his accomplices opened fire at him. Altaf died on the spot, police said.
