Criminal’s confessions: ATC remands target killer to jail custody

The Anti-Terrorism Court-I remanded an alleged target killer, Farhat Abbas Zaidi, to jail custody till November 18 in a murder case on Friday.
The police produced Zaidi before Judge Bashir Ahmed Khoso under tight security. According to a police official, a Gulshan-e-Iqbal police team, led by SSP Syed Peer Muhammad Shah, had conducted a raid in Abbas Town on October 7 and arrested Zaidi after an encounter.
The police said Zaidi confessed that he and his associates had murdered Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat spokesperson Maulana Akbar Saeed Farooqi near Safari Park. The official said that he also confessed to killing four clerics —Dilshakur, Muhammad Umer, Anser and Imran —near Siddiq-e-Akber Masjid in Scout Colony, Mobina Town last year.
“He also killed Rangers personnel on Abul Hasan Ispahani Road after the Abbas Town explosion,” the official added.
