Imran Khan took notice of ministers allegedly engaging in corruption in the province, which is under a PTI-led government.
The online press release reiterated the party's two electoral promises of bringing peace back to the country, particularly in K-P, and stamping out corruption. While campaigning for the May 2013 elections, Imran had promised that, if elected to power, PTI would end corruption in 90 days. That 90-day deadline passed on August 31 this year.
There can be absolutely no compromise on these two commitments, Imran is quoted as saying, and he promised that ministers guilty of corruption would be duly punished.
Billions lost in the Swiss accounts corruption case could have instead been used on education and betterment of the nation, Imran pointed out.
"Corruption starts from the top and so far, not a single report of corruption or malpractice by any minister or a member of the assembly has been reported due to our commitment to hunt all the black sheep," he is quoted as saying in an August 2013 article in the Business Recorder.

whenever there is any news about IK on ET, i read it because there are countless funny comments from paid workers of PMLN and MQM etc.Whose leaders have ended corruption in last five years.Keep it up guys ,but sorry to say that you guys will be jobless very soon INSHA ALLAH.
What exactly do you people want? No one has magic wand to eradicate corruption within a short time and with a deadline, Corruption is depth rooted in our society and no one has made an earnest effort to eradicate it, Here you have a leader who is earnest and willing to do something about it but you people are not very encouraging.
So much for ending corruption in 90 days
@Usman Lakhani: May Allah give all Pakistanis the wisdom to recognize our jewel!
Those who have not given votes to IK are not dear to ALLAH ? Has ALLAH (NAOZUBILLAH) deprived them of wisdom ? You, yourself are another jewel from PTI.
He was claiming to eradicate corruption done by "Baarian lenay waly politicians". Now it's PTI's baari (turn) to indluge in corruption.
Having said this, it's a political move to divert attention from 20 November Nato Supply Halt deadline. Some ministers may be sacrificed to prove corruption free government and a deafening sound of praise would ensue that will overshadow the deadline
The Chief Minister, his brother Liaqat Khattak, and CM's son Ishaq Khattak are openly taking money for jobs and other works. They will end corruption in the province?, Super!
randhawa: he is in politics only because of his massive ego. only wants to be the centre of attention.
@S:
In case you forgot he ran on a platform to eliminate corruption within 90 days. His one victory where he actually has control in in K-P and he hasn't made corruption a focal point until now. He's a public figure that clearly lied during his campaign and deserves most of the criticism he gets. BTW that doesn't mean Sharif doesn't deserve criticism.
Yes he could not but think that he is trying. He is not greedy at all but inexperienced. saying in ninety days was meant but give him some chance as he had lack of experience. But he is not Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, Gillani or Pervez Ashraf who are only in politics to make money.
ET, you must be joking... How come Imran "directs" his Chief Minister, after remaining 162 days in power, to end corruption when he had "promised" during his election campaign to eliminate corruption in 90 days?? Most of his actions are for media consumption only (not to be taken seriously!). Probably Imran Khan's countdown stops whenever he is in UK partying with the royals or he is shedding tears for Taliban.
@unbelievable: Its not his fault everything he does, says, tweets becomes breaking news. Maybe the media should focus more on the ACTUAL PM of Pakistan instead of spending so much time on IK. If you want the promises and election promises to be fulfilled completely wait till 2018 when he will IA get all the power and authority to fulfill them, Also there is an old saying: If you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all....It is because of all you haters on ET that ET writes so many pieces on IK and gives so much attention to KP. If you don't want him to make headlines mind your own business and see whats going on in your own province.
The future of KPK can be determined by the fact that the rulers have never worked in their most productive periods of their lives. How many businesses have they managed or created? Luxuriously living of other people's money till retirement age is not any achievement. Most of us poor working people have jobs, careers, and create wealth not live of handouts.
The question is whether the the assumed corrupts belong to PTI or coalition parties ?
Wasnt he the one who used to say Minister who is even alleged of corruption should resign and now he is saying we will investigate... A typical Govt Talk which every other Party does it is a shame we had to vote this guy.
If he was serious about corruption he would have ordered that the first day - he's just looking for anything to prop up his failing image.
IK should marry to have some fun in his life.
@ Ch Allah Dad Sir ,I am not a PTI supporter, but I invite you to Peshawar. Come and be my guest. I will show you how PTI KP government has restored merit for government jobs, doubled the enrolment in government schools, slammed the doors on transfers and postings on political basis and improved the quality of health services in government hospitals.
Instead of sweeping problems under the rug, here is someone who takes on the issues head on. That's how you practise what you preach. Noon family won't understand it for obvious reasons.
Both looks twins
Typically, when some one at is serious about ensuring that there will be no corruption, and particularly when it is so widespread in Pakistan, a leader would have begun his reign by establishing guidelines for his minsters and instilling rigorous periodic checks and monitoring bodies. Did he do that or is he merely reacting like a batsman who only knows how to react to an incoming ball.
Its the time to be practical.
All his dreams have been shattered, therefore he has returned to his favourite pass time. After the death of Hakimullah, Taliban should have made him their leader. His services are far better than Mullah Radio, but backward people don't know that in this day and age Mullah T.V. should is more useful than Mullah Radio.
@Legend - Mere allegations/conjecture. Online Registration was a start and is continuing...while other police reforms are well underway. Just recently people might have heard of large scale suspensions of officers based on corruption allegations which are under investigation at this point. Show me another province where there is any will to tackle corruption in the police at this scale.
Or maybe show me another province where the party leader takes notice of "allegations" of corruption on his own government's ministers and orders inquiry.
Although he had promissed to be corruption free within 90 Days. It took him nearly 6 months to realize that their is corruption existing within his fold. Wether anything happens or not thats a different topic. Lets wait another 6 month to watch the next episode of this Topi Drama.
Elimination of corruption and in KP is next to impossible.IK is daydreaming.
Imran Khan make mullah Fazullah as chief minister of KP...
