“Peace talks with the government are not possible as Pakistan is not an authority and is under US slavery,” said TTP’s acting chief Asmatullah Shaheen told select journalists while announcing the new militant chief Mullah Fazlullah, who was chosen in a shura meeting at an undisclosed location in North Waziristan on Thursday.
Shaheen said that the group will continue its fight till they establish Shariah. However, he added that negotiations with the government could be possible, but for that the Pakistan government will have to come out from US slavery and have some authority.
The interim TTP chief told journalists that the TTP was not a political organisation nor issued political slogans. He alleged that the government of Pakistan had a deal with the US and that the government had staged a drama of talks to make the Americans happy and that they did not really want to negotiate with the TTP.
Shaheen also hinted at the real possibility of reprisal attacks over Mehsud’s assassination via a drone strike last Friday. “Everyone will know when we will avenge the death of Hakimullah Mehsud.”
The decision to appoint Fazlullah and to take peace talks off the table was taken at a 17 member shura meeting at an undisclosed location in North Waziristan on Thursday.

@Falcon: I read Nadir's comment again. I did not see it originally as sarcasm, but if it is then I apologize. Thanks for pointing out. Now let's have another drone for Mr. Mullah and forget that anyone even mentioned having peace talks with these morons.
Do you still think the TTP/Taliban are worth talking to?...this is the man who targets little girls for death because they want education...can there be any worse individual on the planet?...and your great mullah Munawar Hassan probably thinks he is a wonderful person too...what a confused and twisted country...
Shaheen said that the group will continue its fight till they establish Shariah . That means toss out your Constitution - is that something your willing to put on the bargain table? Maybe you should hope the new guy kills an American so they can "negotiate" with the new guy.
Kaptaan has a work cut out for him now, to go to the cave (farmhouse) his counterpart mullah Radio resides in the badlands and bring him to the peace negotiation. I am sure if he does that he would earn next year's Nobel Peace Prize!
I agree with TTP on one account only that the negotiations were never going to happen. Nisar's theatric was for local right wing punjabis who voted for PML-N and wanted negotiations. Nisar has done well and vote bank is intact. With all the blame dumped on US (brilliant for PML-N), now please get down to work and launch an all out offensive against TTP. And the best part, Imran is marginalised. And if you are about to mention Munawwar Hasan and or Fazl ur Rehman then please don't, this is a serious matter.
This is actually a good sign. He isn't throwing the govt about peace talks any bones so they have no excuse now not to take decisive action against TTP - it's either you come get him or he comes get you. And IK can now finally shut it.
@Zareena; Well every day something comes forward interesting and today, it is your comment that Sharia is not really an objective for a Muslim society, since God did not do it by self.
Why can we not crush them once and for all? Why the state looks coward to the point of complicity? Whwn will pakistan unite against this terrorist outfit and say "this is enough"?
Pathetic situation for a state begging infront of murderers
Anyone with an ounce of sense and a willingness to accept reality (and who does not share TTP's religious interpretations) realized long ago that peace talks with these barbarians are a complete waste of time. Do you really think these fanatics will honestly compromise an inch given their twisted belief that all the murder and destruction they undertake is their divine duty?
@Qasim: Were you expecting something different. Leaving aside the part time terrorists who joined for monetary benefits, rest are hardcore. You can't inject sense into them. Also if we take hypothetical scenario that some of them will take the Imran initiative and become law abiding bus drivers and conductors again and give up there power, it's not the peace loving drivers and conductors who are the cause of the problem. We will then start another round of negotiations? This sounds like a joke to me.
@Zee Pakistani Soldier: In case you didn't figure it out, Nadir's comment above was in fact a sarcastic one (read the second part of the comment to decipher that).
US, please send another 4 missiles to this devil.
so good to have mullah as TTP chief. at least now our troops will be focused. they made him run earlier, they ll make him run again. Let there be no doubt, government is way more powerful than these thugs.our troops r not foreigners like russians or americans, they r from same land, eat same food and probably r taller and stronger than these uneducated mullahs. i hope fazlullah has his motorbike ready to run again or he ll be brought to "raah e raast"
Those who are dreaming that terrorism from Pakistani land will be eliminated at some point, they are living in a fool's paradise. This hide and seek game will continue. In fact after Quaid e Azam ,this land hasn't seen any leader or general who is sincere with the people of this country, Its poor people will continue to fight and get slaughtered in false hope of bringing the things on right track. sooner or later this country is gonna doomed.
Before this guy was hard to find, because we were told that he was hiding in Afghanistan. Now he is in Pakistan to lead his organization, therefore our army should take him down before Americans get the honours.
In short he gave shut up call to Imran Khan and the Lateef naami afsar. PMLN leaders on the other hand are now shrinking in their boots. Cowards.
@Nadir: Instead of praying that Mullah accepts to negotiate, I would suggest to pray that this Friday Mullah Radio is also declared as "Shaheed" by our local Mullah Diesel ...... ;-)
Mullah Fazlullahs enemies in the taliban choose him..they want him droned...
Taliban, addition of a new sect in Islam. Keep on killing each other guys in the name of the religion of peace.
@Zareena:
Sharia are the laws which reflect the values of the religion of Islam and are legislated by the muslim parliamentarians. Not the 7th century regulations but the 21s century civilised environament.
Rex Minor
Dear coward Pakistani leaders, please stop begging for mercy and strike Mullah Fazlullah before he strikes again.
