Art exhibition: Interpreting scenes from the countryside

The diverse collection includes calligraphy, landscape and truck art.

An art exhibition showcasing the works of 11 artists from Khushab opened on Monday at the Rawalpindi Arts Council, according to a press release.

Member National Assembly Chaudhry Jafar Iqbal flanked by Japanese Counsellor Toshikazu Isomura inaugurated the exhibition. The art work consists of more than 150 pieces featuring calligraphy, landscape and truck art.



Paintings by Manazir Ahmed Khan, Noor Hussain, Bashir Haider, Tariq Mehmood, Hafiz Ahmed Shahzad Maher Rasheed, Tahir Bilal, Muhammad Hafeez, Sikandar Hyat featured in the exhibition. The work of two late artists Bilal Ummi and Hasnain Anjum was also displayed to pay tribute to them.

At the inaugural ceremony, Toshikazu said he was pleased to know that there were artists from rural areas who were introducing their culture and gaining recognition for their area. He said that the skills of the artists could be judged by their beautiful art pieces. The exhibition will be on display till November 9.
