Road accident: Two minors killed, three injured

Two students were killed while three others were critically injured when a car ran them over in Kohi Barmol in Katlang, Mardan district on Monday.


According to Katlang police station SHO Sher Malook Khan, students of Government Primary School Chaparabad were playing outside their school during a break at around 11am when the incident occurred.

SHO Khan said the driver lost control of his vehicle and ploughed into around five children. Twelve-year-old Shafiullah and 11-year-old Junaid died on the spot, while Tariq, Dost Muhammad and Arshad Bahadar sustained severe injuries to their legs.

The injured were rushed to District Headquarters Hospital, Mardan where Dost Muhammad was said to be in critical condition and shifted to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar. “The accused driver escaped after the incident and left his car behind,” informed SHO Khan.
