Three people were killed and 24 injured when a van plunged into a ravine near Tredd on Murree Road. Murree ASI Ashraf said the coach was en route to Islamabad from Murree when it skidded off the road and fell into the valley. “Three people died on the spot while four are in critical condition,” he said, adding that the driver was also among the injured shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims). He said more than 30 passengers were on board. Traffic DSP Malik Sabir said, “The driver lost control after the brakes failed”. He said the coach collided with a barrier on the roadside and then plunged into the ravine. Trees along the highway prevented the bus from hitting the bottom, or casualties may have been greater, he said. Doctors at Pims said six of the injured are in critical condition.
