Traffic police have started a campaign against triple-riding on motorcycles and the violation of traffic rules by bikers. Officials have enhanced checking for bikers on roads and are penalising them for triple-riding, for not having registration documents and licences, for not wearing helmets, and reckless driving.
“Triple-riding on motorcycles is illegal. The vehicle’s capacity is two people and seating any more on it constitutes overloading. We have laws under which we will charge you,” said a traffic police officer to three young men, while issuing them a fine on the road at Tower. “We are checking for valid documents and licences and are penalising every bike rider found violating rules.
By not following rules, the riders not only endanger their own lives but the lives of others,” the officer told The Express Tribune. He added that the fine for overloading was Rs1,000 but the police was not charging them more than Rs300. Traffic Police AIG Ghulam Qadir Thebo told The Express Tribune that the drive was a part of routine checks but they had made the checking more stringent and were charging bikers for triple-riding and reckless driving.

what about triple parking? Easier to catch a poor man?
@whitesky: Yes, government is not acknowledging the talent. This is awesome. I have also seen 2 people sitting ahead of bike driver since the rear tire was flat and they had to make it to the service station together. Such audacity, never seen before in history. Abroad this hardly happens in circuses.
