Alleged embezzlement: Corruption case filed against official at DHQ Hospital

Mudassir Shah is allegedly involved in embezzling up to Rs427,000 of government funds allotted for the hospital.

A case was filed by the anti-corruption unit in Swabi against the person, in charge of ultrasound and x-rays at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for his alleged involvement in embezzlement of government funds.


Swabi anti-corruption unit in-charge Amir Hussain said they have received multiple complaints about Mudassir Shah’s alleged involvement in embezzling up to Rs427,000 of government funds allotted for ultrasound and x-rays in the hospital.

As a result, the anti-corruption unit rushed to the hospital to arrest the accused, but he managed to escape. The arrest orders were given by Fayaz Ali Shah, director of the provincial anti-corruption unit. Amir Hussain claimed other senior officials at the DHQ Hospital besides Shah were also involved in embezzling funds and an investigation against them has been initiated.
