The petitioner Ahmed Nawaz filed the contempt application, seeking proceedings against Sethi for ignoring court orders.
The counsel for Nawaz, Advocate Abdul Razak Rajab in his contempt application had maintained that despite the court order Sethi was performing his duties which amounted to contempt of court.
“Sethi used contemptuous language against an IHC judge during a talk show of a TV channel and also on social website Twitter, saying that he is still the chairman of the board,” Rajab had stated.

On October 29, IHC judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui had suspended Sethi and barred him from performing his duties for failing to comply with a legal order to elect a permanent PCB chairman.
However, after a couple of hours, a division bench, at the same court granted a stay order on the suspension ruling until November 4.
Sethi further tweeted that he was still the PCB chairman because of the latest stay order.
However, Express News reported on October 31 that the IHC's written statement over the issue clarifies that Sethi remains suspended.

Najam Sethi We Welcome you in India with open arms +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Pls just stroll across the Wagah. Pakistan will be poorer without You and India richer with you.
His media organaization left no room to send him to jail. The News published the story at first of Sethi's reinstation as PCB chairman even after knowing that he has been suspended.
Seems as if the demise of GEO group has started and that may be the only positive thing happening during this government. The country can't he handed over to mafias. The society needs to stand up against these anti state elements.
@akhtar: no akhtar they are preparing for judicial coup. we had military coups, political coups and it is time for judicial coup.
IHC should first make up its mind about its decisions.
The courts are preparing grounds for army coup that will be headed by Chief Justice
Thats good to hear that court has taken serious notice of the cynical words said by Sethi.. He himself has thrown his image into trough.
I too feel tempted to do contempt of court. I just dont like many things about them starting with their method of induction, their non professional attitude, their hunger for publicity, their childish loud statements, their ethical failures. The list is quite long. Moral of the story is that Parliament must concentrate on judicial reforms to make Judiciary efficient and non political.
I too am tempted to do contempt of court for their many stupidities.
Let justice be done and those violating the orders of Honourable Higher Judiciary be punished
awesome, I will be so happy if najam sethi along with Jang and Geo TV group deported to India forever and run their shows for india.
ET: please publish.
i was the first one who raised the issue on contempt of court in the last article and my wish came true. he should be sent to jail
