Urban mining: Shahbaz briefed about recycling waste

BERLIN: A delegation of ALBA Group led by its chief executive Becher Rethmann called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to discuss recycling of waste materials into fuel for generating electricity in Punjab. The delegation made a presentation on the ‘urban mining’, which included the process of collecting, recovering, refining, and marketing of secondary raw materials. Shahbaz apprised the delegation about the investment opportunities in the energy sector. Meanwhile, speaking through a video conference from Berlin at a meeting held in Lahore, Shahbaz ordered adopting an effective strategy to curb dengue on the pattern of last year. The meeting was held to review dengue situation and steps taken for coping with this problem in the province.
