Studies have proven that being bilingual provides exercise to the brain, enables students do well in other subjects.

SOUTHEND-ON-SEA, UK: With reference to Dr Tariq Rahman’s piece on the importance of being taught in one’s mother tongue, it is unfortunate that our elite are very narrow-minded. They do not know the benefits of being bilingual. Studies have proven that being bilingual provides exercise to the brain and enables students do well in other subjects as well. One of the most advanced countries in the world, Israel, revived a nearly dead language, Hebrew. Every Israeli is fluent in Hebrew, as well as in English. As a result, Israel has made progress in every field.
