The WIEF is being jointly organised by Malaysia and UK from October 29 to 31, 2013 in London.
Commenting on the vast natural resources possessed by the Islamic countries, Nawaz said these Muslim states connect the East with the West.
Speaking about the challenges faced by the world as a whole, Nawaz said Islamic countries should focus on responsible exploitation of resources, scientific progress and human resource development.
He lauded the forum for all its achievements in the last eight years.
Stressing on the effects of globalisation and easy availability of information, Nawaz said that economies should strive to improve the quality of their products as consumers have multiple options available.
The prime minister thanked British Prime Minister David Cameron for taking great interest in the forum.
This is the forum’s first annual event in Europe following its previous successes in Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Kuwait and Pakistan.

The debate in the comments is of absolutely no use. Discussing the wordings of the PM, criticizing, pin-pointing the linguistics again, giving statistics of the cumulative assets etc. My people, why do you not ask what was achieved in this endeavor? Having so many heads of state at one table is nothing but a pandora-box of opportunities. My people why do you not ask why our PM didn't seal development deals with these countries. He has said to have spoken in detail about the resources the Muslim World has, but this indication is of no use if no practical measures are taken to drag the country out of deficit and stunted growth.
So when did economies have their own religion????
Did anyone heard English PM talking about Christian economy or Indian PM talking about Hindu Economy???
Another pathetic attempt by Pakistan who thinks that entire muslim ummah thinks the same and Pakistan are the represntatives for that....
No different from Shoaib Malik who apologized to all muslims of the world for losing T20 final against India when no muslim country other than Pakistan and Bangladesh even care about cricket....
@ModiFied: @Alann: Not only Muslims/Pakistanis were facing discrimination in some of the western countries but other nationals like Indians were going through same ordeal. It is not religious-centric. It has more to do with the economic meltdown in many western countries. Can't believe so many Indians killed in Australia last year.(link below)

It should read "Islamic World economic forum". The Islamic economy is a nonsensical term. Though when we say "Islamic Banking" based of Modaraba and riba free system, it is a different thing altogether. The global Islamic banking industry is expected to tip $1.8 trillion by the end of this year, according to consultancy Ernst & Young.
@Modified...........Japan is so developed as they dont give muslims visa's...especially pure pakistani's.............
Can you imagine the Christian nations getting together and using their GDP's as some benchmark of importance? Islamic countries would be better off spending time figuring out how to stop the Sunni and Shia's from slaughtering each other and how to eliminate terrorism.
Japan alone has the GDP of almost 6.00 trillion dollars. Please give few examples of Muslim countries where this so called Islamic economy has done wonders? In fact I am amazed of even economy being called Islamic. What economy as to do with religion? Hope someone won't call Islamic Physics, Islamic Chemistry and Islamic Mathematics and so on. For God sake, don't prefix everything with religion. The moment you call it Islamic or Christian or Hindu economy, it becomes almost compulsory to become expert of religion first and then of economy. Also I feel like laughing that the conference on so called Islamic Economy is being held in a Christian country. I am sure London will have more Islamic Banks than the entire Islamic world put together. Should I say that Islamic world is totally bankrupt of ideas.
And exactly how do you define an Ialamic economy?
Please dont offer us more..we are already fed up from ur hum 2 hamare 100 and terrorism....
"Islamic economies have a lot to offer the world: Nawaz"
Like what? Terrorism all in the name of religion? Demand of Sharia Law all around the world? Illegal migration to the 'infidel' countries in thousands? Restrictions on female freedom in the name of religion? Killing of daughters in the name of "honour"?
NGO workers selflessly working to eradicate polio get killed. Nobel prize winners get humilited, insulted and called "Non-muslim" till their death by their own mullah-controlled country. Minorities of all religions get killed in the name of Islam. People who call themselves "true followers of Islam" go live in other(read: Non-Islamic) countries and start demanding that country's consitution be changed as it "discriminates" against Muslims? Bomb blasts in UK/Spain/US/India/France by individuals linked to Pakistan. Incredible rise in number of rapes in Sweden/France/UK/Netherlands & spreading to other EU countries like an epidemic - majority of them by Pakistani migrants. Almost every single Islamic country today is affected by terrorism in the name of Islam by organisations such as Al-Qaeda - Syria/Iran/Iraq/Afghanistan/Pakistan/Nigeria/Sudan/Bhutan. Even India is suffering due to certain banned Muslim outfits like IM, SIMI, JuD, etc.
Is this the output of Islamic economies? These are harsh realities of so-called Islamic countries. ET mods might not publish this comment but it is the undeniable truth/fact-based comment about today's Muslim world or the "Ummah" as Pakistanis call it.
Be quiet about others offerings. What do you have to offer the people of Pakistan and what will you be doing to achieve it?
Keep dreaming! This is enormously out of place, sir. Combined GDP of all those countries you call Islamic might be so but how does it match the GDP of just US which happens to be almost $13 trillions or the EU with combined GDP of app. $17 trillions ? Prime Minister Nawaz might be humbled if he, at all, has an idea about our own deeply troubled economy with GDP of less than a quarter of a trillion. I'm sure our man has no clue about what he is told to talk about otherwise he would refrain from making such ridiculously preposterous statements at any serious international forums, especially when seeking their pittance and help to sustain Pakistan.
Yes, lots of begging pots ...
You should be more worried about your own country's economy and the well being of its people rather then propagating islam which is now linked too terror unfortunately due to the hijacking of this peaceful religion by Saudi funded wahabis
