Keeping in view impending weather conditions in Tirah Valley, Governor Shaukatullah Khan has asked authorities to assist displaced tribesmen in returning home by November 5.


Attending a briefing at the Governor House on Saturday, Khan discussed the progressed achieved so far in repatriating the internally displaced persons (IDPs). Fata Additional Chief Secretary Arbab Muhammad Arif, Khyber Agency political agent and FATA Disaster Management Authority director were also present. They updated the governor on what was needed in order to facilitate the repatriation.

Since many of the areas which the displaced tribesmen belonged to are now accessible, all registered IDPs should be facilitated in returning home, said the governor. If this means utilising the support of the federal government, then necessary measures should be taken, he added.
