Six-year old raped by neighbour

Another six-year-old was rescued by neighbours.

FAISALABAD:

A six-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in the Raza Abad area on Saturday.

Police said that Usman, alias Shani, a resident of Bilal Town, had abducted and raped the girl.

Muhammad Naveed, the girl’s uncle said she had been playing outside her house when Usman kidnapped her and took her to his house in the same colony. “He raped her ... she raised a hue and cry and neighbours gathered outside the house,” he said.

Usman panicked and fled, he said.



Neighbours finally entered the house and took her to a hospital. She passed out on the way. “She is undergoing treatment but the doctors say her condition is critical,” he said.

The Raza Abad SHO later told The Express Tribune that they had arrested Usman and were waiting for the medial examination report.

Rape attempt

A shopkeeper tried to rape a six-year-old girl in Sheeraz Park, in the Sargodha Road area, on Saturday.

Police spokesman Ameer Nasir Javaid said, “The girl went to buy candy at Gulfam’s shop. He dragged the girl inside and tried to rape her.”

However, the girl screamed and people in the area gathered outside the shop. Gulfam left the girl and fled, he said.

Sargodha Road police were informed of the incident. They rushed to the scene and arrested the suspect. “Investigations are underway,” Javaid said.
