Robbery: Man sentenced to six years in jail

The convict, Danish, was found guilty of robbing the house of a school watchman, Muhammad Shafi, in Khokharapar.

KARACHI: A district and sessions court sentenced a man to six years of imprisonment in a robbery case on Friday. The convict, Danish, was found guilty of robbing the house of a school watchman, Muhammad Shafi, in Khokharapar. An assistant sessions judge in district East, Sarwat Sultana, sentenced Danish and imposed a fine of Rs50,000 on him. If unable to pay, he would serve an additional term of two months in prison, the judge ordered. According to the prosecution, the accused had looted cash and jewellery from the watchman on March 29. The police managed to arrest him while his accomplice, Ahmed, is still at large. The court issued non-bailable warrants for him while disposing of the case. A case, No.46/13, under sections 392 (punishment for robbery) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code was registered at the Khokharapar police station. The accused was remanded back to prison to serve out the sentence.
