Rewind to the early 2000s and Gul Ahmed was the only prominent textile company amongst a host of others. But the brand actually struck gold when it stepped into the retail sector with Ideas.

Gul Ahmed opened its 42nd outlet earlier this month at Ocean Mall alongside a showcase of its Fall/Winter collection. And as the number of malls grows, we predict, so will the company’s outlets.

The event was attended by prominent socialites, celebrities and media personalities.

Ideas, a concept store from the house of Gul Ahmed Textiles, was launched in 2003 and offers a variety of products. From its signature unstitched three-piece lawn suits to home accessories, the place is a one-stop shop for consumers. Just a few years ago, the company ventured into ready-to-wear — through G-Woman — paving way for other prominent brands to also experiment with prêt-a-porter. With an elaborate product mix, the store aims to fulfill all that a customer might desire.

Fall/winter collection 2013

Gul Ahmed’s fall/winter collection offers its customers women’s wear, handbags, menswear as well as accessories. The collection brings sophisticated, contemporary and digital-trendy apparel. It captures the drama of the traditional paisleys, presents intensely-worked digital viscose of silk velvet and displays ornate details and gilded edges of pashmina to capture everyone’s heart, according to a press release.

IDEAS at Ocean Mall will prove to be a style junction for the fashion savvy to revel in the shades of mesmerising fall and winter collections and have a fashion statement of their own.
