Karachi unrest: Seven-year-old boy killed in IED blast

A teenager was also wounder in the blast.

KARACHI: A seven-year-old boy lost his life and a teenager was wounded in a low-intensity explosion took place in Karachi’s busy timber market in the Old City area on Thursday. Police and bomb disposal experts said that the improvised exploded device (IED) was planted outside a closed timber shop, and added that around half kilogrammes of explosives were concealed in a wood container and exploded with a remote control device.  Investigating officer, Raja Masood said that two passersby, seven-year-old Zain Matin and seventeen-year-old Waseem Abdul Ghaffar were wounded as a result of explosion. They were taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi where Matin succumbed to his injuries.
