KARACHI:

Investigators have revealed the identity of one of the suicide bombers who attacked the Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine, killing nine people last week.

The Crime Investigation Department (CID) of the city police has issued a copy of the National Identity Card of the bomber.

The attacker has been identified as Badshah Khan, son of Muhammad Shafi, a resident of the Ladha area of South Waziristan. Khan belongs to the Mehsud tribe.

Earlier, the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan had claimed responsibility for the blast. Interior Minister Rehman Malik had also claimed that one of the suicide bombers belonged to South Waziristan and was a Mehsud.

However, law enforcement agencies say the identity of the second suicide bomber has yet to be ascertained.

A day after the blast, police had claimed to have identified a suicide bomber as Naseebullah and had taken his family into custody. However, the family was later released when Naseebullah returned home alive.

A Suhail | 14 years ago | Reply Mr Tariq, journalists just not sit in Isloo but they are all over pakistan. They all do not take money from political parties because if they did they will not be riding in motor bikes or still living with their parents or extended families. They do their job in a very hostile environment as either its the cops who beat them up or someone puts a bullet behind their head. Thats why Pakistan is second after Iraq in journalist killed while doing their duties. Do not accuse all the journalists for the folly of few. Regarding that gullible Chechen who is easily swayed by Indians. Don't you think that Chechan should have thought, "Hey Indians are against Taliban and they might be lying about Pakistan?" But no he believed the Indians and showed up to our land killing our soldiers. How convenient it is. Secondly if India/US/Israel are working together to harm Pakistan then it doesn't make sense for India to accuse US of being an enemy who is helping Pakistan because that just doesn't make sense. Secondly if indian agents are in jihadi's garb(what are jihadi doing in pakistan since we are free) then they are just too many of them. These Indian agents blow themselves all the time killing so many innocent Pakistani's and destroying our infrastructure in the process. From your point of view the whole of KP and Baluchistan is full of Indian agents and how did so many indian agents got in Pakistan? And why are so many of our own people are against us. Is it because indians are using a brain washing machine or is it we failed as a nation? Stop blaming outsiders for our troubles thats the first part in fixing the problem.
