Rescue 1122 will conduct two training sessions for police officials at the Sihala Police College to equip them with basic life-support and first-aid skills. Rescue 1122 officials will impart basic techniques of rescue and relief operations to police personnel, enabling them to respond to emergencies in a more professional manner, said a press release issued on Tuesday. The first two-day course is starting from today (October 23) in which 470 Assistant Sub Inspectors will participate. The second course, commencing from October 25 to 26, will be attended by 360 police officials of Inspector and Deputy Superintendent of Police category. Officials will impart emergency management training through lectures, presentations and practical demonstrations to police personnel. Police officials will be trained on Foreign Body Airway Obstruction, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, management of medical and traumatic emergencies like excessive bleeding, fractures, electric shocks, snake bites and fire incidents.
