Conference: Students advised to adopt modern research techniques
Experts wrap up opening session of a five-day conference on computational biology.

Due to the efforts of research community, we have achieved excellence in modern scientific disciplines and these efforts should be carried forward.
This was said by Khan Research Laboratory (KRL) Chairman Ijaz Mukhtar during the inaugural ceremony of a five-day “National Conference on Computational Biology” aimed at bringing Pakistan’s young scientists at par with advanced research techniques, according to an IIUI press release.
The event, which kicked off at International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) on Monday, was organised by the IIUI Department of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology in collaboration with KRL and Pakistan Society of Computational Science and Biology.
Acting IIUI Rector Dr Masoom Yasinzai said progress in the field of science has become a prerequisite for the development and prosperity of nations and urged inspiring scientists to learn latest techniques to meet the challenges of modern era.
“Students must use modern approaches in their areas of research so they can yield valuable results,” according to him.
On behalf of the varsity’s president, Dr Nabi Bux Jummani assured
unconditional support for arranging such events in future.
Earlier, Dr Jabbar Zaman Khattak briefed the participants about the aims and objectives of the conference and welcomed them on the behalf of the department.
Scientific experts Dr Walayat Hussain Shah and Dr Naushaba Atta
also apprised about the aims and vision of such conferences.
The first day of the conference was wrapped up by lectures from Dr Danial Christian Hoselli, Ammar Jaffery, Dr Nasir Mirza and Nasir Mehmood Shah.
