Red handed: Constable caught robbing a person

Police said that four armed men snatched Rs22,000 from Saghir Ahmad in the Setal Mari area.

MULTAN: A robber, who later turned out to be a police constable, was caught attempting robbery on Monday in Multan. Police said that four armed men snatched Rs22,000 from Saghir Ahmad in the Setal Mari area. Citizens managed to catch and detain one of the robbers, while his accomplices fled. Police were informed and the robber was handed over to them. Police said that initial interrogation had revealed that the man, Akbar, was a police constable at Mumtazabad police station. His accomplices were allegedly policemen deputed at New Multan police station, police said.
