Targeted killings: Political worker, police official shot dead

KARACHI: A police official and a political worker were shot dead in separate acts of targeted killings on Monday.

The police constable, Nadeem Hussain, son of Ibrahim Hussain, was shot dead by unidentified men near Sakina Imambargah in Pehlwan Goth, within the limits of Gulistan-e-Jauhar police station.

Police officials said that the deceased was deployed at the District East police headquarters and was on his way home in Pehlwan Goth when the incident occured.



He was shot multiple times and died on the spot. His body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy and later handed over to his family.

Separately, a young man, affiliated with the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H), was shot dead near Ibrahim Ali Bhai School within the limits of Pak Colony police station. The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Khurram, alias Nadeem Lamba.

According to police officials, the deceased was a resident of North Nazimabad and was visiting a friend in the area where he was shot dead by two armed men. MQM-H leader Shamshad Ghauri condemned the incident and demanded the law enforcers to arrest the culprits.
