The Supreme Court, which is hearing a case on the local body elections in all the four provinces, was told on Monday that the Punjab government had drafted its legislation for local body system and had also prepared the groundwork for the elections.
Meanwhile, Sindh said that it too was ready. “The Sindh government is ready for the task and shall provide full assistance to the Election Commission of Pakistan," Sindh chief minister Qaim Ali Shah said.
Authorities from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government told the court that they would complete groundwork in the province by the end of the week.
However, the Election Commission, which indicated it was ready to conduct the elections, said it needs 90 days from the day when provinces announce elections to complete their preparations.
On hearing this, the CJP remarked that if provinces wanted something, they promulgate ordinances within a day.

Someone should give this guy a book of the Constitution and tell him about the trichotomy of power. We all saw the results of his addresses to the returning officers that in every term would be classified as a violation of the Constitution and he clearly wants to handover the local body government to his favorite party on a platter before he retires.
