Addressing party workers in Lahore and Multan, he said that candidates will be nominated from each and every district in Lahore and asked party workers to ready themselves for the task.
The MQM chief said that in order to save Pakistan, people in Punjab will have to take practical steps to eradicate the prevalent corrupt political culture and bureaucratic norms in place. He said that if Punjab doesn't do the needful, the entire country will see terrorism strengthening its foothold.
Asserting that MQM was the only party that could turn Pakistani into a prosperous state, he urged Punjab to join hands with the party.

@adnan the "heavy mendak" is so heavy that after 100 days it seems people are feeling the pang. try feeding your hungry masses in Punjab rather pointing them towards Karachi.
So much for gratitude !
The London-based Lifetime Chairman of MQM (Mustaqil Qaumi Masla) continues to dish out funny statements to remain alive in the news... "Deewanay ka Khwab"
@SatWhat?:
Pardon me my little ignoramus but Pakistan belongs to every breathing soul from Karachi to Khyber and it should not be anyone's problem on the number of trainloads coming to Karachi carrying people who want to earn their livelihood in our great city.
Since you seem like a train / rail aficionado to me, might I suggest that you get a one-way ticket across Munabao and resettle in Uttar/Andhra Pradesh or where ever your ancestors came from and feel the acrimony of being a third class Indian citizen.
And please get this straight - not everyone talking against MQM and its brand of insidious politics is Punjabi or Non-Mohajir. I can't speak on behalf of @Salman Hussain and @ Zen One but I am a bigger Karachite and a Mohajir than you would ever grow a spine to be one.
@Salman Hussain: @Adnan Siddiqi: @Zen.One: Hey, why you guys still sending a half-a-dozen train-loads of emmigrants for bread-n-butter daily if your "Lion" was feeding you enough?
Correct your data: There is several-fold more violant domestic and property crime in Punjab FYI than that resulting from political turf war in Karachi. What does it matter? Unless you are politically involve, your life is lot-more-safer in Karachi than anywhere in Pakistan.
As a mater of fact NS govt was making excuses to take any action in Karachi, and it was only MQM's political persistance through courts and bills in assemblies that brought the Rangers n Police response that send the criminals running for their money & to their home towns and elsewhere in Pakistan. Thanks goodness these hiding criminals are sent back to where they came from.
@The Only Normal Person Here:
By "Development" you actually mean that Punjab would end up resembling the killings fields of Rawanda and Burundi?! Though I am not from Punjab but I am sure that some of the Punjabi bloggers around here would find such a development highly grotesque and disgusting.
MQM mistook the local bodies as (local=bori band) and bodies ( lash or dead body). Need to understand this better.
@Bimbo:
Funny little gal you are for such bravado on the internet! Hahahahahahahahahahaha. The lions have already made the little hyenas of Karachi scampering for cover after the launch of operation clean-up-crap-from-Karachi. As for the lions followers, we are very much around and kicking in Karachi. Let it rip!
Punjab shouldn't allow them for sake of Punjab and its people.
@SawDat! Threatening is till better then killing. Every possible step should be taken to keep bhattakhors and killers at bay...
@Adnan Siddiqui , I am totally against of this thought of MQM of going to Punjab . We donot need Punjab .But remeber if the Lion acts funny for them in Lahore there will be quid pro quo in Karachi for the Lion and its followers .
@Adnan Siddiqi
i suggest you try MQM for once and you will forget PML(N) for ever, never tasted the goods of common man's leadership and efficiency of MQM?
developing Karachi was not a very easy task, Karachi is a very complicated city, and so is Hyderabad, both were developed by MQM
you guys need to get taste of anti feudal common man's leadership
as for MQM facing challenges in Karachi then dude believe me MQM's reputation will never let any other party win in Karachi so can already give those emotions to rest that something is gonna happen to MQM in Karachi
especially id Mustafa Kamal returns
@Asad Khan dude for the love of God do not make such claims. Even if army is standing there MQM will whitewash Karachi easily. Mustufa Kamal is a hero in Karachi if you don't know yet !! There is no way any other party can ever even win!
People of Punjab, vote for MQM if you want Lahore to become just like Karachi; being shut down every now and then, target killing and of course extortion and hide snatching
@syed baqar ahsan:
On the contrary, Punjab has ZERO TOLERANCE for a Karachi based party which finances itself and its London based leadership through mob/car snatching/target killing/ransom activity. MQM's dream of electoral encroachment will forever remain a dream and no matter what kind of election MQM participates from in Punjab, the results would always remain the same - ZAMANAT ZABT.
Now the increase in extortion requests in Lahore makes sense, MQM was gathering funds for this venture.
Popularity of MQM right at the moment is very low due to arrests of MQM target killers.
I wonder if MQM will be able to win the Local Bodies Election from Karachi itself, what to talk about Punjab?
Like other political parties, PTI is also going to field its candidates from Karachi and it is quit possible that MQM may not get the same mandate as previous Local Bodies Elections, as on the other hand PPP will also field it's candidates from Karachi.
The actual contest in Local Bodies Election will be between PML(N) PPP and PTI candidates from all over Pakistan and not of MQM.
@Hammad:
Leverage in Punjab and that too in the presence of Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza? MQM dispense its conventional tactics of harassment and we will see how much leverage it has got left in Karachi.
You are entitled to dreaming even in broad daylight bro.
@Adnan Siddiqi: Well the lion is currently sucking our blood, who knows what's next either the tents or our flesh.
Altaf Bhai has to come back before LB election otherwise this governance from London will not deliver.
MQM has to build its reputation very fast for ZERO tolerance for mob/car snatching /target killing/ ransom activity in his area around his bank vote in Karachi and Hyderabad.Complete discipline and effective governance at union counsel level be ensured then it can win respect in the eye of people of punjab otherwise result will not be different what seen in last general election.
Karachi's thappa mafia vs Lahore's thappa mafia. It's on!
@SawDat!:
Give it a rest pal. PML-N does not subscribe to MQM's modus operandi of intimidating its opponents. The roar of the lion is enough to pull out any tent in its path ;-)
MQM's reputation in the last local government system will give them some leverage into Punjab
GL MQM
lol, 2 jokes in a day. :D First Bilabial now Altaf sahib. Our politicians have great sense of humour. :)
BTW Don Corleone, what happened with your candidates during the general elections on May 11th from Punjab?
Oh no! PMLn workers will dig their tents out by the morning and threat to kill them...like last time.
Good decision.Take part in elections from all over the country.
