Safety measures: Security plan chalked out for Landi Kotal

On Friday, Charsadda police announced plain-clothes police would patrol commercial areas on Eid.

LANDI KOTAL: The security plan for Landi Kotal, Khyber Agency was chalked out on Monday in order to prevent any untoward incident during Eidul Azha. Political administration official Daftar Khan said a meeting of khasadar and levies officials was held in Landikotal wherein 23 teams were formed to keep watch in the subdivision.

He added 14 areas have been termed ‘sensitive’ where officials would be deployed to thwart any possible threat. Khan said the teams would start patrolling sensitive areas from Monday, while additional personnel would be deployed at mosques and eidgahs. He added strict action would be taken against officials found to be guilty of negligence.

Earlier on Sunday, it was decided Rescue 1122 would keep its offices open in the settled areas of Mardan and Nowshera during Eidul Azha. On Friday, Charsadda police announced plain-clothes police would patrol commercial areas on Eid.
