Saeed, who has a $10 million US government bounty on his head, said joint US-Indian efforts to block funds for organisation were aimed at stopping its relief work.
JuD is seen as a front for Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), which Saeed founded and which investigators blame for the three-day carnage in Mumbai that killed 166 people.
The United States and India agreed on Sunday to step up cooperation to prevent the financing of extremist movements linked to Pakistan, including JuD and LeT.
But JuD denies terror accusations, and in Pakistan is known for its relief work after natural disasters, particularly the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and 2010 floods.
"Their aim is to hamper the relief work of our charity Falah-e-Insaniyat foundation in the earthquake hit Balochistan, that's why they are trying to stop our funding," Saeed told reporters.
Both LeT and JuD are listed as terror organisations by the United Nations, but JuD operates freely in Pakistan and, despite the bounty on his head, Saeed lives openly.

Irresponsible piece of journalism. No, the US has not put a 10 million dollar bounty on Hafiz Saeed, but rather put out this as a reward for information that would lead to implicate Hafiz Saeed.

Alternatively, the US may be attempting another illegal alternative which would be to kidnap Hafiz Saeed, and ship him to New York for a show trial the way they did with poor Dr Aafia Siddiqui. Also, I did not think anybody was taking the UN too seriously now-a-days. It is just a puppet Western organization after all. Incidentally, no proof was furnished in regard to Dr Siddqui except that she had attempted to attack the brutes who were mistreating her, and up to now she has been incarcerated for ten years. Perhaps, the Pakistan authorities do not wish to have another repeat of a US type Dr Siddiqui legal debacle on their hands. Also, it is just as well to keep in mind US double standards when they released Mr Raymond Davies who shot two Pakistanis in the back. Very few people endorses Hafiz Saeed in Pakistan except his own madrassa students, notwithstanding his charity work. But if they(Indians) look at their own backyard, lot of 'Sena' type hardliners have infiltrated into Indian army as Indian veneer of secularism have started wearing thin.

Here is an idea for hafiz saeed. Please surrender yourself to US, collect $10 million as bounty yourself and donate that $$ for the earthquake relief to balochistan.
Congratulations to ET for posting the photograph and giving news coverage to a well known terrorist heading a UN banned organisation with a ten million dollars award on his head. The man is also considered as a priceless asset by the number one establishment providing them the proxies which the state uses as a tool for settling political scores with its neighbour. I know nothing on Saeed's background, yet common sense tells me if he is working for charities and social welfare in disaster hit areas, under what basis should he be arrested/tried etc? If I may add, I do not at all agree with his accusations aimed towards India and the USA...
