Usually around this time of year, our attention is more focused towards wedding formals and bridals as orders have to be placed for December and January weddings. However, with Eid just around the corner, you may need to pick up some smart semi-formal day prêt wear for the occasion and for what is appearing to be a nice long Eid break. A lot of designers, especially retail labels, have taken out limited edition capsule collections for Eid and if you’ve left your Eid shopping to the last minute, we can save you some time and effort with a glimpse at what’s in store at each one of them.

Ayesha Farook Hashwani, Nadia Farooqui Fall Eid 2013

If your style is embroidered classics with subtle contemporary and elegant silhouettes, drop in at SanaSafinaz’s prêt store or Nadia Farooqui’s boutique.

SanaSafinaz Export Pret Collection

The new SanaSafinaz Export Pret collection involves fully embroidered straight-cut short and mid-length kurtas complete with pretty threadwork borders and they are available in a select range of pretty colours and neutral white with colour blocked floral trimmings.

At Nadia Farooqui, you will find her new range of fall semi-formals comprising lovely embroidered cotton net and screen printed kurtas on an autumn palette. Another great option is Ayesha Farook Hashwani’s brilliant new eStore where you’ll find an incredible range of her thread worked graceful kurtas with her signature flared sleeves and many more casual and formal tunics.

Misha Lakhani Kashmiri prints

We highly recommend Misha Lakhani’s Kashmiri printed crepe silks and charmeuse kurtas as well especially since you’ll be able to wear them well into winter paired with your favourite Kashmiri shawl or pashmina. The prints are available in pretty pinks, mint, and earth tones with fine minimalist threadwork woven near the box cut borders and sleeves.

 Zari Faisal prêt

Finally, for the minimalist, chic, and understated fashionista, Zari Faisal’s modern shirt dress style printed silk tunics are a must-have. Her separates are easily accessible at Brand Just Pret multi-label store in statements stripes and polka dots as well as soft florals and abstract prints.

Sanam Chaudhri prêt, Fiction Concepts by Rabia Wahab

Capes are high on our trend radar and they fit perfectly with the transition from fall to winter. To get your hands on some fun modern layered kurtas, visit Fiction Concepts by Rabia Wahab or Nida Azwer’s prêt store for some slightly more formal cape jacket styles. Another great choice for an Eid brunch is Sanam Chaudhri’s lace jacket on a pretty pastel aqua kurta with white lace appliqué if you’re looking for something delicate and feminine.

Nida Azwer

For cutting edge prints and interesting colour pairings, Sania Maskatiya’s latest Turkish inspired ‘Hazan Autumn’ Collection printed kurtas are now available at all her retail outlets.
