Teachers’ training workshop concludes

LAHORE:

“The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) runs as many as 1,100 teachers’ training programmes of various types for its partner schools every year. The purpose of these trainings is to improve the quality of education at partner schools,” Raja Anwar, the PEF chairman, said on Saturday.

He was addressing the concluding ceremony of a two-day PEF sponsored teachers’ training workshop.

Teachers from 30 partner schools took part in the workshop.

Anwar said teachers’ training programmes were a way to improve teaching standards at low-fee schools.

He said PEF arranged free of cost training programmes for teachers for its partner schools.

He said many teachers did not know how to relate to their students.

He said it was important to communicate effectively with students, regardless of their scores.

“The PEF also provides training in school management to school heads and subject-based training to elementary and secondary level teachers,” he added.

“Our efforts benefit 1.4 million students enrolled in 3,300 PEF partner schools across the province,” he said.

PEF Director Bushra Saeed Khan asked teachers to sensitise their students to the importance of cleanliness at schools and homes. She asked them to prepare their students for future challenges.

She added that teachers should encourage students to be more confident.

Later, certificates were distributed among the course participants.
