"I must make it very clear that we have not reached a stage where we have done something like 'so-called resumed talks'. We used to have a composite dialogue and that composite dialogue got suspended and then we began to move towards a process to resume that dialogue subsequently," Khurshid said after returning to India following a trip with Manmohan to Indonesia, Press Trust of India reported on Saturday.
"While the two Prime Ministers met in New York (last month), we have not reached a stage where we have indicated any dates, timeline or perspective on the resumed dialogue...But whether and when the political level dialogue will take place and when, that is yet not clear."
Khurshid termed the recent incidents along the Line of Control (LoC), a defacto border between Pakistan and India in the disputed territory of Kashmir were “upsetting” and not conducive to normalisation of ties.
"But (as far as) the incidents at the LoC and border are concerned, they are upsetting. The army is dealing with it and the Defence Minister is dealing with it, but I can't say it is conducive to a faster movement in normalisation."
On the bright side, Khurshid said that there were "many routine things" still continuing between India and Pakistan despite the adverse political atmosphere and that these "will continue". "This (political dialogue) is something our leaders will work out in due course."
Tempers have flared in recent weeks with violations along the LoC which has threatened a fragile peace between the two nuclear armed neighbours, both of which who have fought three major wars with each other during their 67 years of existence.
Most recently, the Indian military blamed Pakistan for trying to infiltrate militants into Indian administered half of Kashmir. The Indian army claimed it had conducted a two week long operation against militants which started after an attack on an army camp in the Keran sector.

The best solution to obey UN charter is to hold plebiscite in both parts of Kashmir, one held by India and the other held by Pakistan. Then both counties must admit and accept what ever the the result comes out.

The first condition is total withdrawal of Pakistan army from Pakistan administered Kashmir ( you call AZK). while India will retain its army to administer/ monitor the Jammu & Kashmir. Is Pakistan ready for it? If so, let them declare it openly and inform the UNO and withdraw . The next step will be taken by India. Also mind it the plebiscite per UN resolution is to go with either India or Pakistan and nothing more.

We know it very well and exactly that India never showed honesty and sincerity to resolve Kashmir issue with Pakistan and when India showed seriousness in the composite dialogue process with Pakistan.This Indian Foreign Minister statement is not new for us because this is Indian leadership's routine activity to give such these types of statements.......

Now Nawaz Sharif is again talking about peace and Pakistan's ISI/non-State actors are playing Kargil on LOC.

Well Mr. Khurshid, if you think Pakistan will go down to "humiliation state like this" to make peace with India, then you're grossly mistaken. The only reason Pakistan was created is to avoid such humiliation. You should have expected better than a tit-for-tat response on LOC from our side. Seems like India has already decided that 'it's no use talking to Pakistan because they consider it their birth-right to use terrorism against us'. On the Pakistan side, it seems they are so intensely filled with an ignorant type of hatred that they can't think clearly. Indeed, it would be incumbent upon Mr Salman Khurshid to clarify who was behind the alleged incursions/violations across the line of control. At this point, Gen. Kayani is a much more credible source of information than Singh Saab just because he savours his words. Pakistan needs to stop being made a scape goat for India's domestic agenda - poor politics, pathetic diplomacy.
Pakistan is a Jihadi country and Indians don't believe in talking to Jihadis/ terrorists. Even if it takes 1000 years, we will fight the Jihadis of all strains.
