Inaction: Protest against delay in arrest

The RPO ordered an inquiry into the robbery and directed Madina Town SP to submit a report.

FAISALABAD: Dozens of Chak 190-RB residents on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration in front of the office of the RPO’s against police’s failure to arrest robbers. Muhammad Ashraf, one of the protestors, said that ASI Ghulam Ali and his two accomplices took away Rs300,000 from him at gunpoint a week ago. He alleged that the police were uncooperative. Ashraf said he told the Chak Jhumra SHO that he recognised the robbers but he had ignored him. The protestors blocked University Road The protest ended when RPO Mian Javaid Islam assured the protesters that the matter would be resolved in accordance with the law. The RPO ordered an inquiry into the robbery and directed Madina Town SP to submit a report.
